Dr. Ahmed Bershawi

Dr. Ahmed El-Bershawi is the founder and medical director of Pacific Pulmonary Medical Group, a private practice specializing in Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine.

Dr. El-Bershawi is dedicated to the delivery of quality patient-centered care with a comprehensive, individualized and cutting edge approach. He is committed to provide high quality care to patients affected by pulmonary disease, sleep related disorders or life threatening critical illness.

Dr. El-Bershawi currently serves as the Medical Director of Pulmonary & Critical Care Services, both at Riverside Community Hospital and Parkview Community Hospital. He is also the Chief of Service of both the Respiratory Department and Sleep Center at Hoag Hospital in Irvine.

Dr. El-Bershawi completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin, followed by a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Kansas University Medical Center. Dr. El-Bershawi also completed a fellowship in Sleep Medicine at the University of New Mexico.

Some of Dr. El-Bershawi’s other professional appointments include Associate Clinical Professor of Pulmonary and Critical Care at UCR School Of Medicine.

Among Dr. El-Bershawi’s most notable achievements include Patients’ Choice Award (2018, 2017, 2016, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2009, 2008), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2018, 2017, 2016, 2014, 2013, 2011), and On-Time Doctor Award (2018, 2017, 2014).
Among his professional affiliations, Dr. El-Bershawi is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the American College of Chest Physicians, the American Thoracic Society, and the California Medical Association.

In his spare time, Dr. El-Bershawi enjoys watching movies, traveling and spending time with his family.
